THE ACADEMY CORNER by Rear Admiral Val Karna
===========================================================

UNKNOWN ALIEN VESSEL CRASHED ON PLUTO

Starfleet recently detected a small, abandoned vessel which
apparently crashed several weeks ago on the planet Pluto. Scans made
from the USS Connery, sent in the planet's orbit, revealed no life
signs on board, nor anything of apparent interest. Just out of
scientific curiosity, an Away Team consisting of the three Cadets
Denebris, Taine and Medea, led by Instructors Sedaq and T'Pott, were
sent to Pluto to explore the vessel.

In the vessel, Medea got a strange message. It appeared the ship was
able to transmit thoughts. The ship itself was alive. All crewmembers
were dead, because of an invasion of strange energy beings. These
energy creatures pursued the three cadets and attacked Medea. Cadet
Denebris and Taine were able to get her back to the shuttle and to
Starfleet Academy's Medical Facilities. Where the ship came from and
what kind of energy beings were in it remains a mystery.

USS CONNERY TAKES THOLIAN SPIDERS TO DS10

When Dr. Flucx, CMO of DS10, found a serum for the plague on Cyrilla
IV, everyone seemed relieved. But when came out he needed a lot of
living Tholian spiders to make the cure, the matter became more
complicated. The USS Connery was sent to deliver the creatures to
DS10. The ex-freighter Captain, Clancy Duke, who is now employed by
Starfleet, helped in transporting them. Because of his help there
were no accidents with the extremely dangerous animals.

ANTAR MISHBANO AND ATHENA DARTMETH GOT MARRIED

Congratulations to Antar Mishbano and Athena Dartmeth, who celebrated
their wedding on 2386.9.12 at Starbase 3. Two days later the new Mrs.
Athena Mishbano joined Starfleet Academy and was trained by Lt.
Lochary.

We, the AcadCM and all instructors of the Academy, wish them a good
future in both their marriage and their Starfleet career.

***INSTRUCTORS ASSIGNMENT***

Starfleet asks experienced officers to join Starfleet Academy as an
Instructor.

It is important our newest personnel are trained by experienced
people. If you want to teach your knowledge and skills to young,
eager cadets, contact us!

As an Instructor you will be in charge of teaching our newest members
to become a competent ensign. We need two kinds of instructors. You
can either be an individual instructor, who guides the Cadets to
their first two years. Or you can become a leader of training
missions with a number of third-year Cadets.

If you are interested or you want more information:
Contact Rear Admiral Val Karna over subspace or email to
acadcm@frontierfleet.com.

-- USS ARAKOV, MARCH 2002 – by Ian Beacock
===========================================================

<<Evening, 2390.06.29>> to <<Morning, 2390.06.30>>

The crew of the USS Arakov has enjoyed quite a leisurely, but
occasionally tense first few days (game time) of commission. This
month's play centred around the get-together on the Balcony, a
surprise command switch, promotions, and a system malfunction.

The month began at a party... Captain Lewald (Jaap Marsman) had
organized the get-together as a method of getting to know one
another, but was also planning to hand out some promotions to the
crew. There was casual small talk, and two new officers showed their
faces at this gathering: CSO Giellun Maiek (a Romulan played by
Brandon Allard), and OPS Darv'ot (a Klingon played by Vinnie Raposa).
As you can guess, the already inebriated crew was not especially
pleased to see these two potentially violent races land in their
midst.

The brawl was inevitable. After a knife fight between Maiek and
Darv'ot, the Captain announced that he was resigning his commission.
To take his place as Captain would be the Executive Officer, Rylie
Tir (Clare Bradley).

The rest of the night passed uneventfully, and the next morning, the
newly promoted Captain finished the pleasurable job of handing out
promotions.

However, this occasion was disrupted when the ship shook violently,
for the second time in her short life. Once the senior staff reached
the bridge, they realized that the ship's systems were going haywire.
The disruption was, no doubt, a result of the ship's massive refit to
become a science vessel.

At this point in time, the crew is abandoning ship.. Who knows what
will await the crew of the newest Frontier Fleet ship in the next
month??

ODY TALES by Elizabeth Klein
===========================================================

March, 2002
What's happening on the Ody:
Right now we (the crew) are attending a party, organized by the
benevolent Lt. Sarin, celebrating two promotions (CMO Victory and CSO
Candy). Not everyone has 'arrived' yet, but yet still much merry
making is being accomplished. We recently got rid of a
parasite/alien being thing that has been plaguing our ship for months
uncounted. Hopefully we can 'get on' with our lives now, since we
have heard the last of them (or have we?).

We would like to welcome some new people to the Ody's ranks! First
up is Ensign Dak Johnson our new ACONN, Tayna Reynolds our new
engineering officer/section 31 'undercover' and also another
undercover officer, from Starfleet intelligence is Mikael Ilyaev, our
AOPS. Section 31, Starfleet Intelligence, ACONN, oh my! Ok that was a
really not witty in any way, so sue me.

USS CALHOUN – Status Report
===========================================================

Upon Captain Bren's resignation from Starfleet, Lt. Cmdr Su assumed
command of Delta One and the USS Calhoun. A transmission from
Starfleet Command ordered the crew to send the Calhoun back to Alpha
Quadrant space, specifically to the station Deep Space 53, to pick up
new crewmembers (including First Officer Logix) and diplomats from
alien governments.

Indeed, the Federation has granted neighbouring governments the right
to be present on Delta One, under the express condition that they
obey Federation and Starfleet rules at all times while in the Delta
Quadrant. Thus, diplomatic groups from the Cardassian Union, the
Romulan Star Empire, the Klingon Empire, Rigel, Bajor, and several
other worlds or empires, flock to DS53 as they await the arrival of
the Calhoun. . .

On stardate 2390.10.03, the Calhoun departed from Delta One,
beginning her return journey under the command of Lt. Cmdr Harris and
Lieutenant Holmes, and with a skeleton crew on board. . .
Most of the crew (including the Captain) remained on Delta One, where
they had to face down a small group of saboteurs. . .
