know...' article. And what to think of the new quiz? In short, there's a lot
for you to read and enjoy. So have fun!

USS Odyssey status report July 2006, by Rob Verlinden.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Stardate: 2392.10.15
Location: Enroute from Pandora Station to Earth

With the new arrivals on board the Odyssey set course for Earth. On their
way Captain Bennek is contacted by an old friend from Andor, Caltek. Caltek
asks Bennek to come to Andor to help him uncover a trail of corruption with
the Andorian government. The Odyssey changes course and an away-team is
assembled to go down to the planet and meet with Caltek.

Meanwhile a pirate captain meets with an Andorian politician, negotiating a
new deal. The new deal 'collapses', when the pirate shoots the roof and runs
of with a large amount of latinum and valuable cargo. The pirate captain
makes it back to her ship, where a whole crew of pirates is waiting for her.

USS Valkyrie Status Report July 2006, by Jon Hardy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

(] STARDATE [)

1. 2392.09.17
2. 2392.09.21

(] LOCATION [)

1. USS Spire/USS Valkyrie, holding position somewhere en route to Pandora
Station
2. Pandora Station

(] SUMMARY [)

1. The crew of the USS Valkyrie are currently holding position somewhere in
Federation space, en route to Pandora Station. Lieutenants PaRel and
Schofield have been taken into custory on the orders of Admiral Virstchotka
and are standing trial for alleged offences. Members of the crew -
including ASTC Leeson and Counsellor Lando - have been called as witnesses,
as well as the two defendants.Whilst most of the crew seem to find the whole
trial/court martial unnecessary, there are one or two crewmembers who are
relishing the prospect of the two Lieutenants being found guilty and using
the opportunity to aid their own standing within the crew structure.
2. Captain Denebris - awaiting the arrival of his first Command - has been
updating two other new members of the Valkyrie's crew as to what is
happening and generally getting to know the two officers better. Although,
one of these new officers has accompanied Denebris as a transfer from the
Odyssey herself, to take up the position of OPS.

USS Atlantis Status Report July 2006, by Ben Versteegt.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Stardates:
- 2392.07.12
- 2392.07.13
- 2392.07.14

Locations of the (crew of the) USS Atlantis:

- In Deasian space, approximately 2,7 light years away from the planet
Helteka in the Andari system, in the Gamma Quadrant, at a position roughly
1000 light years from the wormhole.

Summary:

- 2392.07.12

Most of the senior crew of the Atlantis had been spread out over the L'tari
convoy fleet to assume command over some of the convoy's vessels. Even
before going to warp towards the planet Helteka, though, problems started to
arise. On the L'tari 3, for instance, designated "Starseeker", a crewmember
was murdered over some sort of gem. Ensign Bukov, trying to find out what
happened, talked to Deasian crewman Wup, who seemed to know more than he let
on.

Other problems were of a different nature: Ensign Wiley, on board the L'tari
5, called "Kiteone", had trouble fighting off the flirting by the ship's
Leisure Officer, who wished to be promoted to Senior Quartermaster so she
could design new, more stylish uniforms.

On the L'tari 39, called "Nilav" by its commanding officer, Lieutenant
Jomorr, the diverse crew was working round the clock to repair the damage
sustained during the recent pirate attack. In an attempt to grasp what
exactly the L'tari convoy entailed and how many sacrifices the Deasians were
willing to make in order to reach Helteka, Jomorr called his FO, Hadan, to
explain the meaning of the L'tari.

- 2392.07.13:

On the L'tari 17, or "Jatmey", Doctor Kadar succeeded in capturing a couple
of criminal stowaways. Despite the fact that these criminals attacked her,
Kadar allowed them to sit in a somewhat comfortable brig, much to the
surprise of the crew of the Jatmey.

- 2392.07.14:

The skeleton discovered in a closet on the L'tari 25, "Remember Edan",
turned out to be the remains of the very first Captain of the L'tari 25. It
was his wish to remain on board after he died, and over the years, the
various crews of the ship have come to regard his bones as a lucky charm.
His actual place was on the Bridge, and so the skeleton was put back there
again. The Captain had returned.

But even The Captain could not prevent the misfortune that was about to
strike the L'tari convoy. Only a minute before a scheduled stop, the entire
convoy ran into a subspace distortion field, and the warp fields collapsed,
stranding the convoy. It turned out that the distortion field was emanating
from within the minefield that stretched out in front of the L'tari ships.
Going around the minefield at impulse would take hours, so the decision was
made to neutralise the subspace distortion field. That would mean to take a
ship deep into the minefield, however, and destroy the installation present
there, all the while avoiding colliding with mines or getting attacked by
pirate ships.

Before the plan could be set in motion, though, explosions occurred all
around the convoy ships. The installation within the minefield was firing
long-range torpedoes to do as much damage as possible. And indeed, a lot of
damage was done to some of the convoy ships. Fortunately, the Atlantis was
able to take out several of these torpedoes before they hit, and some mines
as well.

Suddenly, the mines and the long-range torpedoes weren't the worst of the
convoy's problems, as a huge fleet of pirate ships was seen closing in on
the Atlantis and the cargo vessels. The pirates swarmed around the Atlantis
mostly, cutting the larger ship off from the rest of the convoy.

While under attack from pirate vessels, Lieutenant Jomorr on board the Nilav
came up with a plan: he was going to send a shuttlecraft with explosives on
board to the centre of the minefield on automatic pilot. Once there, the
shuttle would be detonated and the installation which emitted the distortion
field would be destroyed. Unfortunately, this plan went horribly wrong.
Pirate ships got sight of the small shuttle and fired at it -- carrying
volatile explosives, the shuttle burst up in flames and exploded in the
vicinity of the "Remember Edan". Heavily damaged, the L'tari 25 was barely
able to establish communications with Lieutenant Jomorr, who immediately
offered his help. But now that Lieutenant Montgomery on board the "Edan" has
lost consciousness, and now that the ship seems critically damaged, the
question is what help Jomorr and his crew can offer... Before it is too
late.

Now, with the Atlantis facing a nearly overwhelming number of small, hostile
ships, the convoy ships are left to fend for themselves... And against a
large pirate fleet, that is not going to be easy.

Pandora Station Status Report July 2006, by Rob Versteegt.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Location: Pandora Station.

Stardates:
2392.07.06
2392.09.08
2392.09.19
2392.09.20
2392.09.21
2392.09.22
2392.09.23
2392.09.24
2392.10.15
2392.10.16

Summary:

2392.07.06:

CMO Doctor Truesdale goes to Sickbay because of the pain she's experiencing.
XGO Underhill finds out the cause: Truesdale is pregnant. However, since the
embryo was a mix of Human and Andorian DNA, it needed genetic therapy to
survive. Alas, the genetic therapy came too late. . . the embryo didn't make
it.

2392.09.08:

Cardassian Ambassador Talen Omek left Cardassia Prime, on his way to Pandora
Station. The Ambassador came to find out more about Starfleet's so-called
Transwarpfleet.

2392.09.19:

After receiving a report from OPS, Engineering Officer Bill Janssens started
looking at the power distribution: the drain of the Station's power was
higher than usual. He let Virt do a standard diagnostic, but Virt found no
evidence of any malfunctions.

2392.09.20:

Captain Denorian contacted Captain Kane, about some potted plants which were
still in the CO's Office, and which belonged to the former CO. Also,
Denorian ordered Engineering Officer Ta'agk to work at the USS Solstice,
since the vessel's tactical systems needed an overhaul. Mr. Ta'agk agreed,
enlisting the help of Security Officer Moineau.

Also, Nurse Alvas Kylie, the Bajoran Head Nurse of the USS Odyssey, visited
Pandora Station's Sickbay to see how the Odyssey's previous CMO, Lieutenant
O'Gallagher, who was still in a coma, was doing.

The Simpson women were concerned about Cheryll, one of their quadruplet baby
girls. So Megumi dumped the other three in Stellar Cartography, with Sally,
and went to Sickbay to get Cheryll checked up on.

2392.09.21:

Captain Denebris, newly appointed Commanding Officer of the USS Valkyrie,
waited for his ship to arrive, while meeting more newly appointed Valkyrie
crew.

2392.09.22:

Captain Kane met Captain Denebris, and told him about something called 'The
Captain's Table'.

2392.09.23:

Yalon Marg asked Melissa out for a date to 'P', the Pizza place on Pandora
Station, run by Pablo Pazzini. Although it looked as if Melissa wouldn't
come, her father left her no other choice, since he shut the door,
preventing her from going back to her quarters.

Klingon Ambassador Kregel met with Ambassador Yja, a Tyksonian, and started
answering questions about the Federation, about his own people, and about
his customs. Both Ambassadors then went swimming in Pandora's pool. The
Tyksonian Ambassador had suggested it, and the Klingon had accepted, only
because then he would get rid of those annoying Andorian Twins: Tev and Tel,
who wanted to sue the Risan government for making Risa too hot for their
liking.

2392.09.24:

Petty Officer Jordan Aiden got a visit by Captain Denorian. Aiden's pet
parrot though, quickly made sure that Aiden was transferred, since the
parrot was not very kind to the Bajoran Captain. . .

2392.10.15:

Crewman Skeldon, who was waiting for the USS Calhoun to arrive, got treated
by Doctor Vok after a case of bad luck hit him. . . something which seemed
to happen a lot to the poor crewman.

2392.10.16:

Crewman Skeldon was still waiting for the USS Calhoun to arrive. Early in
the morning, he tried to sleep, although he couldn't: some of Pandora's
maintenance workers were working in a Jeffries Tube directly above his
quarters. Figures. . .

Public Relations Status Report, July 2006, by Rob Versteegt.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh deary me. There were a total of 8 signups this month. That isn't a lot. .
. but not to worry, I'm working on getting more signups. ;-) Anyway, let's
see where those signups found us, shall we?

4: Searching/ surfing on the web.
1: Via a friend.
1: has been a member before.
1: Google.
1: Startrek.nl (add placed by PR)

Well, that's it for the signups. But (fortunately) the signups weren't all
the 'new' people entering Frontier Fleet! After all, in the month July PR
has sent a mail to all ex-members who were still in the database. Several of
those have responded, asking to stay or to come back... So be on the lookout
for some former members who are returning!

And let me end this PR status report with another call for all of you to
vote: www.frontierfleet.net/comm/vote . Thanks!

Did you know...? By Rob Versteegt.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Did you know...

And yes my dear readers, once again we have the rumours coming from Frontier
Fleet! And quite some rumours we have for you! Are they true? Partially
true? Or is there no truth to these rumours? You be the judge of that!

USS Calhoun.

You know that new Crewman? Well, of course you don't! You cannot be expected
to keep up with every new Crewman who arrives! Sure, new Ensigns, yeah,
those are important -sort of- but crewmen. . . nah, there are so many of
them anyway. Well then, you might ask, why are we paying attention to that
new crewman here? Well, the answer is simple. It's his bad luck! Yes, that's
right, Crewman Skeldon seems to have a monopoly on bad luck! And trust me,
that's not a monopoly you want to have. Not even if you're Ferengi!
Skeldon's bad luck included, up until now, falling down on a holodeck in
less than fresh-smelling material, being accused of theft (that might
warrant a further investigation of this reporter...) and spilling a couple
of drinks. And then to think that this man has not even boarded the Calhoun
yet!

But on the Calhoun, there are things amiss even without Skeldon's help.
Apparently they've all changed bodies, and the body of the Second Officer is
now inhabited by Lieutenant DeTroyes, whom we all know is guilty of
attempting to commit genocide. Rumour has it that she planned this whole
thing to take over the ship. Think about it: With the Captain's body
inhabited by an oversexed teenage boy, and the First Officer's body
inhabited by a nervous Cairn, DeTroyes might actually succeed in her
diabolical plan!

But this whole changing of bodies has also caused some hilarious situations.
For example. Engineering Officer O'Neill is now caught in the body of a
Vivillian. And the long tongue which Vivillians use to eat insects is now
his as well. So instead of just using his hands to tap in commands on his
console, he'll just use his tongue. Pretty neat trick, although it has to be
noted that his crewmates might not like it: the consoles are now filled with
saliva!

USS Odyssey:

Ah, the Odyssey. Now there's another story. Did you know that Captain Bennek
has transported down with an Away Team, and have resorted to breaking in to
the Andorian government building? It's true! They're investigating some sort
of death or so, and they need access to a computer which is in that
government building. But if you ask me, the Captain enjoys being a burglar
just a bit too much. One cannot help but wonder if he has any experience. .
.

And then there is of course the issue between Lieutenant Nerell and Ensign
Jyll. Apparently, Nerell had spread a rumour about Jyll, which said that the
Ensign had been sleeping with the entire command team! (now why wasn't that
in our previous issue?) Apparently though, Ensign Jyll did not like this
rumour, and threatened the Lieutenant. So maybe Lieutenant Nerell will soon
be Ensign Nerell. Still, rumours usually have a bit of truth stuck into
them, don't they?

Oh, and then there's this Ferengi: Torp. He got on board the Odyssey without
the Odyssey's internal sensors finding out! That's just impossible. . .
isn't it? Well, of course it is! But Torp did get on board, undetected.
Which allows us to believe that he had someone watching out for him. Someone
in the Security department, maybe. Somehow who didn't want to be on board
when Torp was discovered. Someone in a high ranking place. Someone like. . .
that's right, Starfleet's only Lionanition. I wonder what the Ferengi
offered Nerfertii in return for letting him sneak on board. Maybe a ball of
wool? Or maybe some milk!

USS Valkyrie:

Ah, le ship des misfits. So many rumours are told about this ship. It is
impossible to include all those rumours in this newspaper, but we've tried
to bring out the best ones. Like this one for example. And it isn't even a
rumour! Lieutenants Schofield and PaRel have been fired from Starfleet!
They're plain old civilians now. Man, who'd have expected that? How did such
officers get to work in Starfleet anyway? Maybe someone back at the Academy
made a mistake in letting them pass? Or even better: they bribed the Academy
Commandant! Hmmm, there might be a story in there.

One thing needs to be said about the Valkyrie: most crewmembers on board
were loyal to both departing officers. A period of mourning followed the
trial. Well, either it was because of that, or because the Valkyrie got a
new Commanding Officer, we're not so sure about what the reason was. Anyway,
with everyone so down, one would think that the crew would do anything to
cheer up again. Including some pretty illegal things! Did you know that
Ensign Masters and Ensign Leeson have travelled back in time to fight in
Earth's Second World War? That's what the rumours says, anyway. And why
would they do such a thing, anyway? That goes to show that Starfleet people
aren't as peaceful as you might think. . .

Oh, and how's this for a juicy rumour? Commander Byrne -the First Officer-'s
wife (or ex-wife?) arrived on the Valkyrie, together with her -and Byrne's!-
children. Apparently she came there to be a teacher. Don't worry readers,
we'll continue to follow the events as they progress. . . since the
confrontation between Byrne and his (ex-)wife should be quite. . .
entertaining!

USS Atlantis:

Things are pretty rough there in the Gamma Quadrant! While protecting the
convoy, the Atlantis herself was under attack by pirates, and was thus
unable to do anything while the convoy suffered from another pirate attack.
Oh boy, that's quite some trouble for the Atlantis senior crew, who are on
the convoy ships as well. Lieutenant Montgomery has fainted, and from what
we believe he's seen a glimpse of the afterlife. It would be very
interesting if the man would tell us what he had seen! If he comes out of
there alive, that is.

Lieutenant Rofellian, who was piloting the Borhyas -the Gamma Flyer of the
Atlantis- seemed to have been getting bored with just defending the other
ships from pirate attacks. So he beamed to the T'rinna, Commander Velden's
love. Uh, ship. There he stood ready to help the Commander to defeat the
pirates which boarded the ship. But did he beam over to help, or did
Rofellian just want to be the hero? After all, rumour has it that
Rofellian -a Romulan- had been a Captain in an alternate universe. Maybe he
wants to secure a promotion? Or maybe he wants to force Velden to giving him
a promotion? "If you don't promote you, I won't help you fight these
pirates." Sounds interesting. We'll have to see how this turns out. . .

Another interesting rumour: Doctor Morgan has lost command of her convoy
ship. The crew started to form a mutiny. Details are still unknown, but a
crew doesn't just commit mutiny. So reasons are up to speculation. And we
LOVE speculation. We believe that the CMO of the Atlantis couldn't handle
the pressure and freaked out. Rumour also has it that she cut off her own
finger in response to the question "could you lend a hand?" The CMO was then
reported to have answered "No, but you can have my finger."

Pandora Station:

Fleet HQ. A lot is happening there as well. For instance, the arrival of the
new CMO: Lieutenant Dan Marck. We immediately recognised the name: The
Atlantis once had him as CMO, and the crew knew that all too well. Poor
Pandora crew. Captain Denorian quickly found out first-hand about the CMO's
behaviour, for the Captain was asked to report in to the CMO, instead of the
other way around. Apparently the Captain had explained that this was not how
it should be, after which he left Sickbay. Marck though, did not seem to
have learned anything from the Captain's speech, since he quickly continued
ordering the nearest nurse to get him a sandwich.

By the way, did you know that Gorn were concerned with how they looked? It's
true! Rumour tells us that Lieutenant Ta'agk, currently assigned to Pandora
Station, has voiced concerns about whether or not some clothing suited him.
I thought I've seen it all, but a Gorn who is into fashion...

And we conclude this article with the rumour of the relationship between
Ambassador Kregel and Ambassador Tyks. According to the rumour, both of them
went for a swim. The rumour doesn't indicate if they were skinny dipping
though, but I wouldn't put it past them. Apparently the two of them are very
close to forming some sort of a. . . diplomatic agreement, if you get my
drift.

Well then. We hope you've enjoyed reading these rumours. If you have heard
more rumour, please, don't hesitate to send them to us! See you next month!
