USS Calhoun Status Report, December 2006, by Adrien Rodd.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

STARDATE: 2393.01.09
EPISODE: #28, "Aryna"

Still trapped in orbit around a Y-class planet, the crew of the USS Calhoun
must deal with difficult ethical and practical questions, including what to
do with captured Ferengi and Orion raiders. Meanwhile, three members of the
crew have been taken by a Cardassian crew, and the Calhoun has encountered
old Kazon "friends". . .

USS Odyssey Status Report, December 2006, by Rob Versteegt.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Stardate:
2392.10.17

Locations of the (crew) of the USS Odyssey:
Andor
Near Wolf system.

Summary:

Free! Captain Bennek and Mr. Caltek were free, thanks to the Away Team
consisting of Lieutenant Nerell and Ensigns Jyll and Graves, who were now
masquerading as Andorians. But a new problem arose though: they were out of
the cell now, but security was on to them! Where to go to now? Luckily, Mr.
Caltek knew the layout of this government building, and he lead the team
towards a crawling space. But before they could enter it, Mr. Comton, one of
the politicians, confronted them. Surprisingly, he allowed them to escape,
and gave them directions as to where to go in order to get out of the
building safely. Apparently Mr. Comton was aware of Drelev's corrupt
dealings as well. . .

The team now climbed down, towards the second floor. Unfortunately,
Commander Nerfertii had just landed on the roof, which would have made it
more easy to escape. Well, they were on their way down anyway, so they might
as well keep going and meet Mr. Sando, the contact Comton had told the team
about: the man who would help them escape.

Mr. Nerfertii brought some dire news though: Ms. Romarana was no longer with
him. He believed that she was in the government building. So when Bennek and
his team arrived on the second floor, Lieutenant Nerell and Mr. Caltek
called up to Drelev's office, expecting to catch Romarana there. Little did
they know they would talk to Mr. Drelev himself, who quickly learnt of their
location. Escape would have to happen soon.

And it would, since Mr. Sando had provided jetpacks for the entire team. All
they had to do now was to jump out of the window, and fly to safety. Nerell
and Jyll though, wanted to know what happened to Ms. Romarana, so they
suggested they'd fly up to the windows of Drelev's office, to find out what
was going on.

Little did they know though, that Drelev had already murdered Ms. Romarana,
when she confronted him. . .

Meanwhile, on board the Odyssey, the pirates had been captured and the
missing crew was safely returned. That still left the Odyssey crew to deal
with the missing canister though. . . the very same canister that the
pirates had stolen, and that the Ferengi Yok had hidden down on the planet
with a pre-warp civilisation. Finally, after hours of searching by the
Odyssey crew -and CSO Creevel and ACSO Banks in particular- it was just
random luck that the container was found. But found it was, and it was
quickly beamed up!

Now, after having solved some personal 'issues' -Mr. Greystone confronted
one of the pirates which also happened to be the murderer of his long-lost
friend-, the Odyssey was about to set course back to Andor. . . to retrieve
the Away Team.

USS Valkyrie Status Report, December 2006, by Rick Clogston.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Locations:
USS Valkyrie - On, and in orbit of, Te'har
Schofield / PaRel - Canok Nor

Summary:
The Valkyrie and its intrepid crew are still dealing with the
genetically-engineered plague that is threatening the pre-warp civilization
on the planet Te'har. Chief Medical Officer Brigit MacKenzie is leading the
combined efforts of the Medical and Science departments in discovering the
origins, workings, and cure for the virus. They appear to be close to
success, and Captain Denebris, along with the Engineering, Security, and Ops
departments, are working on a planet-wide delivery system.

Meanwhile, the search for the missing away team continues. Ensign Masters
has arrived near the Federation observation post in one of the Brunhilde's
escape pods, along with an infected Te'hari boy. LtJG T'Cal is attempting
to make her way there by more low-tech means. LtJG Fletcher is still lost,
and is holed up at a farm house with a young Te'hari woman. Both Masters
and Fletcher are infected with the virus, but T'Cal appears to be immune.

On space station Canok Nor, the activities of civilians X'ok PaRel and Emile
Schofield have caught the attention of the local crime syndicate. Schofield
has been running a local bar. He is also putting together a commando unit
with the help of a former Starfleet officer named Lance Foster, who has ties
to a member of the Valkyrie crew. PaRel has been conducting biological
experiments, while also acting as an unofficial doctor for the station, and
running sort of a day-care center for local children. They have been taken
captive and delivered to an unknown location, where they are being
interrogated by a Breen commander.

USS Atlantis Status Report, December 2006, by Ben Versteegt.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Stardates:

- 2392.07.28
- 2392.07.30
- 2392.10.12
- 2392.12.24
- 2393.01.03
- 2393.01.08

Locations of the (crew of the) USS Atlantis:

- In orbit of the planet Helteka, Gamma Quadrant.
- Pandora Station.
- (In orbit of) the planet Acebi, Aorya system, Gamma Quadrant.

Summary:

- 2392.07.28

When convoy duty seemed to be over, several officers gathered in Five For to
celebrate the successful outcome of this mission.

- 2392.07.30

The Atlantis left orbit of the planet Helteka and set a course back to the
Alpha Quadrant.

- 2392.10.12

Due to the damage to the transwarp drive, the Atlantis only returned to
Pandora Station after a journey of three months. At that time, the Odyssey
was docked at the station as well, and Commander Leon Nerfertii, second
officer of the Odyssey, decided to visit the ship that used to be his home
before he transferred off the Atlantis.

- 2392.12.24

While officers at Pandora Station celebrate Christmas, Ensign Jase Conners
on the Atlantis had his own little run-in with Christmas magic.

- 2393.01.03

A new year, a new mission: Captain Torn announced to the crew that the
Atlantis would be heading to the planet Acebi, the fourth planet in the
Aorya system in the Gamma Quadrant, to study a civilisation on the verge of
achieving warp drive. An away team will beam down to observe the Acebi
without being detected. The command crew had no problem finding any
volunteers: all vacancies for the away team were filled the very same day
already.

- 2393.01.08

Having arrived in the Aorya system, the Atlantis took up a position 3
Astronomical Units away from Acebi to avoid being detected. The away team,
disguised as Acebi themselves, flew towards the planet in the Gamma Flyer
Borhyas, which was smaller than the Atlantis and thus less likely to be
detected.

Leaving the Borhyas on automatic pilot in a high orbit of the planet, the
away team beamed down and started making their way towards the Acebi warp
drive testing facility. They came across a number of Acebi, and soon found
out that the Acebi value truth above everything else.

Meanwhile, on the Atlantis, a JAG observer with a mission to evaluate the
Atlantis crew set out on that mission and began to question everyone and
everything. This Commander Djesco is not impressed with the Atlantis crew at
all, and seemingly can't wait for the crew to slip up. Will the crew be able
to function properly under this harsh scrutiny?

Stardates:

2392.07.12, 2392.07.16 & 2392.07.23 (backpost)
2392.11.29
2392.12.05
2392.12.18
2392.12.21
2392.12.23
2392.12.24
2392.12.25

Summary:

2392.07.12, 2392.07.16 & 2392.07.23:

When ACMO Vok returned from the mission to the Delta Quadrant, he found
nobody waiting for him. He expected the love of his life: Commander
Truesdale, to waiting for him. An emotional letter written by Truesdale
though, told him that she had left him. . .

2392.11.29:

Pandora Station's entire senior crew was present to hear Captain Denorian
talk about the upcoming Christmas and New Years Eve celebrations. . . which
the crew had to organise. In secrecy.

2392.12.05:

The kid Wahlis discovered that his parents were busy in an activity they
rather embarrassingly called 'checking the sheets'. Apparently this activity
had to be done without any clothes on. Wahlis was sent out of the room, and
wondered the corridors, until Chief of Operations Tiburo tripped over him.
STC Jaal came and have a look at what exactly was going on.

2392.12.18:

Commander Jeff Jalando, FO of the USS Odyssey, wasn't very pleased with the
delays in the repairs to his ship. The delays were caused though, by
Pandora's Engineering crew having to work on multiple ships at once: amongst
those ships was the USS Atlantis. So, Jalando contacted his counterpart on
the Atlantis, FO Paul Velden, to sort out this problem. Unfortunately,
Commander Velden didn't seem to agree to let the Odyssey be repaired first.
. .

2392.12.21:

Lieutenant Mphilo Morabulu, formerly the ACEO of Pandora Station, returned
from a temporary assignment, and reported in to the Captain. Unfortunately,
the Lieutenant hadn't bothered to see who was in command, or what changes
had taken place since he had left. So Morabulu reported in to a Captain he
didn't know, on a Station with a lot of senior crewmembers whom he had never
seen before. Still he was made CEO, and put to work in the Engineering
department.

2392.12.23:

Captain Denorian ordered Chief of OPS Tiburo to let it snow in the Park. It
had been done before, after all, and it would look nice at the celebrations.
But instead of letting it snow, the environmental controls accidentally let
it rain. Petty Officer Gnone, from the Valkyrie, went to 'assist' Tiburo
with the repairs.

During all of this, Captain Kane was in the process of setting up the
largest Christmas Tree ever seen on Pandora Station. Kane talked to Denorian
about the difference between rain and snow, since maybe the Pandora CO had
forgotten. . .

Also, Melissa Kinnard -daughter of FOPS Kane- and Koda Nerfertii -younger
brother of 2O/STC Nerfertii of the Odyssey, who had been surprised by the
rain in the park- met and talked about rain, the view over the park, and
other things.

Mr. Schofield of the USS Valkyrie also walked in the Park, although he
didn't seem to mind the rain. He then went to the Promenade to get something
for his girlfriend, Ms. Alvarez. The latter also wanted to buy something for
Mr. Schofield, and got help in the matter from Pandora's own STC Jaal.

CMO Marck wasn't bothered by the rain. . . especially because he saw Ms.
Waldau was: the rain had made her clothes rather wet, and Marck was very apt
in noticing Waldau's. . . shall we say female forms. Naturally, Marck went
over to talk to her.

2392.12.24:

Science Officer Sophronia of the USS Calhoun talked with CSO Jomorr of the
USS Atlantis, Science Officer Alvarez of the USS Valkyrie, and STC Jaal of
Pandora Station, about her, and their adventures on board the various
dutystations.

2392.12.25:

The Christmas celebration started! And in a spectacular way, one might say.
Captain Denorian, dressed as the old Earth mythical/historical figure of
Santa Claus, descended from the Park ceiling in a sled, which was actually a
couple of anti-grav units linked together. The Pandora CO gave a speech
about Christmas, about what it meant to have things, and wished everyone a
merry christmas! Honoured guests were of course the various Admirals who had
attended: Admirals Baine, Cussler, Anyanka, Khatibi and Truesdale.

During this Christmas celebration -and after Denorian's speech- Captain
Denebris of the USS Valkyrie talked to Commander Paul Velden of the USS
Atlantis, before they were interrupted -or rather bumped into- by Science
Officer Sophronia of the USS Calhoun. The Commander and the Captain excused
themselves though, and went on talking.

Mr. Schofield also bumped into someone: Admiral Baine to be exact, who was
just talking to his colleague, AcadCM Anyanka. Schofield quickly walked away
again though, as his girlfriend gave him a present.

Public Relations Status Report, December 2006, by Rob Versteegt.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

And welcome again dear reader, to another thrilling PR Status Report! I say
thrilling, since last month has been a hectic one. In this Status Report,
you'll find passion, humour, fear, deception and violence. Beware, this
Status Report should not be seen by people under 12 years old. It might harm
them for life.

A total number of 12 -Yes, 12!- people signed up for Frontier Fleet in the
month December. 12 people daring to step into the unknown. To face the
challenges which a successful RPG like Frontier Fleet has to offer. 12 brave
people who wanted to know fame and glory. But. . . not all 12 of them
managed to survive.

Indeed! Half of them were brutally slaughtered -better known as 'rejected'.
. . *shudder*- by an evil entity known as the Academy Commandant. Yet the
other 6 thrived under pressure, and gained the Academy Commandant's respect.

Before we move on, let us have a look at where all 12 -including the 6 who
didn't make it, may they rest in peace- have found us.

6: Searching for us via a search engine.
2: Unknown. 'the Internet' is just too big a place. 'Surfing the net' also
doesn't really help.
1: Found us by accident! What luck!
1: A friend told this person about us.
1: A (voting) link. Hooray!
1: A co-creator of Frontier Fleet found his way back to us. Welcome back,
lost sheep! :P

I would like to ask for a moment's silence to remember the ones who have
fallen.

*pause*

Now that that's over with, I have a request to make to each and everyone of
you. It comes from the heart, so please, listen to what I have to say. I
would like you all to. . . *sniff* Oh, I can't say it! And yet I must. Maybe
I should sing it. . .

I'd like to ask you all to vote
For us at Frontier Fleet
Go to the site (just see the Note)
So other fleets we'll beat!

Note: the site is of course www.frontierfleet.net/comm/vote.

Now, if that wasn't an original PR Status Report, then I don't know what is.

Disclaimer: This silly Status Report was brought to you by Rob Versteegt,
chief of PR of ST Frontier Fleet. This status report is pure fiction, except
for the parts that are not. Any similarities between people in this status
report and real people are just a coincidence, except when they are not. I
thank you for your attention.

Rob.

AcadCM Comments:

An interesting month 7 signups and 3 cadets graduated with next to no
training so that was a bonus, all though there was four that graduated this
month fleshing out the ranks a little.

All in all a good month 2 departures and some cadets in training so it
should not take that long before they're graduated and we get some new
players out in the game.

I await this New Year and new month to see what the Academy brings and Happy
New year :)

Cheers,
Martin
Admiral Elizabeth Anyanka.

Sci-Fi quiz, by Martin Miller.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

The following quiz is nothing more than a bit of fun and hopefully I'll
start the official FF quiz again when the next Tribune Debuts.

In the mean time this quiz is something different, I've compiled a list of
20 Sci-Fi themes and reversed the songs so they are that little bit harder
to recognise.

There are two categories one being Movies and the other being Television,
and covers different Sci-Fi shows, I hope you have fun and the winners will
be announced in the next Tribune.

As always no cheating, no looking up the answers or saving the tracks and
reversing them back to hear what they are, please play fairly.

All answers are to be sent to Martin and my email is retrokat247 at gmail.com
and you have until February the 8th to get your Answers in my inbox anything
after that will not be included.

Have fun and good luck.

Looking back, looking forward, by Rob Versteegt.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

The year 2006 has been a turbulent one for Frontier Fleet. A lot has
happened, and I'd like to look back with you on that. There have been quite
some major issues, which I'll put in here.

*Council:*

For me, the year started off with a 'bang', so to say, when Guido and Clare
decided to dissolve the Fleet Command Team (FCT) and instead hand over
leadership of the game to Adrien, Bram and myself. Thus Frontier Fleet found
itself with a new 'command team', or in this case a Council. But with the
new Council trying to get used to running the fleet, there were still some
matters to attend to.

And yet, all dutystations went their own way after this, as usual. Not a lot
changed in Frontier Fleet, except several behind-the-scenes things, like the
posting guide. Most of the things the Council worked on was trying to find
out how to run a game like this the best way they / we could.

*FWM.*

Ah, the FWM. Remember? All the Captains being kidnapped and put through
tests, the dutystations -without their Captains- under attack by alien
weapons. In the beginning of 2006, the Captains returned to the
dutystations. . . but all in different order! Sarin was sent to the
Atlantis, as well as Kane. Torn was put on Pandora Station, Maiek to the
Calhoun, and the Valkyrie received Captain Bennek. What a chaos that was!

*Academy Commandant.*

It was in the beginning of February that a new 'problem' came to be: I
decided to step down as Academy Commandant. I had been thinking about that
for a long time, and I had finally decided to do what was best for me. Not
that I didn't like being AcadCM, but it just cost too much time. So a
replacement needed to be found. And indeed, a month later, Martin Miller was
chosen as Academy Commandant. But that didn't mean that he would become
AcadCM immediately. No, there were some training sessions he needed to
undergo before he could take that position. It wasn't until mid-July that
Martin officially became Frontier Fleet's Academy Commandant.

*Pandora Station.*

Pandora. In late-June 2006, the Station went from PC status to SPC status.
Why was that actually? Why did the Council decide that this would happen?
Well, there were a number of reasons for this. First of all, the number of
players in Frontier Fleet was dropping, as well as the activity of some of
those members. Something had to be done, otherwise there wouldn't be enough
people to man all dutystations. This was already true on Pandora Station,
where we had quite some vacancies.
It was then that the Council thought up the idea of transforming one of the
dutystations to SPC status. That way, all the PC crew of that dutystation
would be transferred to the rest of the PC dutystations, and those
dutystations would then have some more (active) crew. Ultimately, the fact
that Pandora Station was (and is) Fleet HeadQuarters, made it easier for the
Council to turn Pandora into SPC, than it would be to turn any other
dutystation into an SPC dutystation.
So the 25th of June 2006, the final mission was over, and the PCs were
transferred to other dutystations. Pandora Station was officially a SPC
dutystation now, where SPCs could roam around freely in their natural
environment.

*New COs, FOs and 2Os.*

In 2006, there were a lot of changes in command positions. For example, the
Valkyrie's CO left. Brandon Allard had been CO for a while already, but even
he couldn't cope with the curse of the Valkyrie's CO position. So his
replacement became Dennis Church, formerly FO of the Odyssey. Dennis' FO on
board the Valkyrie would be Jon Hardy, and Rick Clogston complemented the
command team of the Valk as 2O.

But then a FO place was open on board the Odyssey. With the closure of
Pandora Station as PC station though, I brought in my FO character from
Pandora to the Odyssey.

The Atlantis suffered the departure of their trusted Second Officer: Hanna
Brundefeldt. So far, no replacement has been chosen yet.

*Story Arc.*

Ah, surprise surprise! The Council's been talking about a potential story
arc for quite a while now. We wanted to create some sort of story arc so
that the dutystations wouldn't be just separate dutystations, but part of a
Fleet: the Frontier Fleet. Hence, we thought up some story arc ideas. The
ideas themselves are still classified though (Muahahaha! :P) so
unfortunately I cannot tell you any more about those.
However, also consider this a request to the command teams (and to all of
you reading this, actually) to try to do missions where other dutystations
have left off. For example, the Odyssey could do a mission about the
Atlantis' L'tari, and the Calhoun could do a mission about a Breen
involvement in the Orion underworld which the Valkyrie has previously
explored. Something like that. These are of course just suggestions... ;-)

*Looking ahead.*

When looking ahead, I see a bright future for Frontier Fleet. Sure, we'll
face some difficulties. But that's inevitable. However, when I see the level
of story-telling everyone's doing now, I cannot help but be optimistic.
There are so many good stories being told throughout the fleet. As long as
we keep that our top priority, I'm sure Frontier Fleet will produce many,
many more of such thrilling, exciting, intriguing posts. Keep it up
everyone, also in 2007!

Rob.
